The Pembrokshire Bank name was aquired by the partnership of John & William Walters of Heverfordwest in 1827. John Walters died shortly after the establishment of the new Pembrook Bank, and William Walters carried on the business.

A branch was opened in Narbeth in 1863 After the Death of William Walters 1872 the bank and leasehold premises at Haverfordwest and Narbeth were sold to the London and Provincial Bank Ltd. London and Provincial Ltd was later absorbed into London Provincial and South Western Bank Ltd, which later became part of Barclay Bank.
